It’s normal to be nervous about your first visit to a bridal store — it’s so exciting, there’s a lot at stake… will you like the staff? Will they be nice? Will you find ‘The One’? — and will you have to show your bra and pants to people you don’t know?!
One of the most common questions people ask is what to wear to a fitting — especially what underwear… brand new, strapless, white, body or bra… help!

This is an excellent question and one I’m sure most brides think about!
From a bespoke designers point of view it is always best to try and wear the same underwear as what you plan to wear on the big day, as well as the same shoes. Obviously this might be a bit difficult if you don’t know what style of dress you desire, but different underwear and shoes can dramatically change your body posture and therefore the fit of your gown. This is particularly true if you are having it made just for you, as we tend to take around 20 different body measurements and things such as a different bra or different height shoes can sometimes change the measurements!
