Wedding Venue Review: Matara
I should reintroduce English Wedding blog venue reviews as it’s been a little while since the last one. If you’re new to the blog (hello!) I ask wedding photographers to review wedding venues they know. It’s a great way to get an expert opinion of a wedding venue and its facilities, charm and atmosphere.
Today, Patricia from Howard Wedding Photography shares her wedding venue review of Matara in Gloucestershire.

Kirtlington Park wedding venue is a Grade I listed 18th-century Palladian country house, about 0.5 miles east of the village of Kirtlington in Oxfordshire. It is set in 3,000 acres of parkland, landscaped by Capability Brown, with views over the gardens to the Chiltern Hills.

Fawsley Hall wedding venue review
Fawsley Hall is a luxury country house in Northamptonshire, combining Knightley Court for smaller, chic weddings and the Main House at Fawsley Hall for luxury celebrations. Parts of the hall date from the 15th century — its history is dotted with barons and viscounts and ladies… needless to say it’s a magnificent wedding venue today.

Photographer thoughts on Rookery Hall
Adam from ARJ Photography says, “I was impressed by the grandeur of Rookery Hall (not untypical of a Cheshire wedding venue!), and the real mixture of old and new. They hold ceremonies in the older hall and then you go over for your wedding reception in the more modern wing.

“It’s an inspirational place to shoot with great choices for fine weather and inclement weather. The staff were polite, professional and attentive, the catering was lovely.
The Belle Epoque wedding venue
The Belle Epoque in Cheshire is an opulent wedding venue, richly decorated and full of character. A gorgeous little gem with bags of character, I had to do a little wedding venue feature to show you this one!
Owned and operated by a single family over 35 years, the Belle Epoque has such wonderful features as marble pillars, art deco fireplaces and luscious detailing around every corner. It really makes a statement and is a glorious treat for your wedding day.

Stapleford Park wedding venue
Stapleford Park is a luxurious country house hotel in the heart of Leicestershire. A huge estate with acres of land and gorgeous accommodation, Stapleford is pretty spectacular if your wedding budget is particularly stretchy. This really is a top class venue, popular for both grand and intimate weddings, and also a haunt of the rich and famous. (For hotel guests, country pursuits are offered including game shooting — so vegans perhaps give this one a miss.) The AA has named Stapleford Park as one of the top hotels in the British Isles and it has been awarded a prestigious 4 red star rating for its accommodation.
