Debbie and Matthew’s surprise Buckinghamshire wedding

A long awaited proposal and a secret, intimate wedding are hiding in my little box of tricks for you today my lovely readers. Debbie and Matthew, and their little boy Noah, celebrated their surprise wedding in superb style — although they tell me the decor was “a bit of a mis-match”!
Their wedding photographer Natasha Thompson submitted this wedding for the blog many weeks ago, and Matthew and Debbie (I think mainly Matthew) sent their wedding report back to me this week, along with the sweetest note: “Sorry this has taken so long, we have just had a baby!” So first of all let me say a huge Congratulations to you both, and I’ll hand over to you and to Natasha with her beautiful photographs of your intimate wedding.
I wish we could do it again!

Rebecca and Stephen’s November wedding in a village in Cumbria combines warmth and style wonderfully. It’s one of those heart-warming days where the smiles from the bride and groom just get to you — I knew when I saw this wedding on Simon Hudspeth Photography’s blog I had to share it with you.
Rebecca wrote a lovely wedding report as well — the title I used for the blog post is from Rebecca’s own story! Her next line made me giggle though… but let’s start at the beginning and that will come later.
Vintage & lavender wedding inspiration board
One thing: I absolutely can’t possibly let this one get away without making an inspiration board, I thought. Nicola and Chris created a wedding that was true to their personalities, full of creativity and character.

I’ve blogged their vintage wedding in Derbyshire over the last two days. I didn’t want the blog features to end! So I’ve even kept some of Nicola’s wedding report back for you today.
Nicola and Chris — vintage themed Derbyshire wedding

I did a secret little smile when this wedding came in — while it’s become trendy to talk about the end of vintage as a mass market phenomenon, for some couples the whole vintage theme fits like a glove — and Nicola and Chris do vintage their way, very very beautifully indeed.

Yorkshire wedding photographer Andy Hook submitted the pictures for English Wedding blog — thanks Andy! — and Nicola wrote a wedding report for me to share with you all. It’s one of the best wedding reports I’ve seen — let alone been able to feature on my blog!
What next for vintage wedding photographers?
Hands up anybody in wedding-land who hasn’t heard about last week’s article on The Huffington Post about the end of the vintage wedding trend? Yeah, I knew there wouldn’t be any hands up. So — what does it mean for the wedding industry? Not much. Trends come and go. But there is one thing…

A vintage inspired Cambridgeshire wedding
How many words do you think are reasonable for the heading of a blog post? And how long do you think it takes to write a blog post heading? About thirty seconds? No. A minute, maybe? No. Five minutes. Because Caroline and Adam’s beautiful wedding day has so many elements I don’t want you to miss! They say bloggers shouldn’t stress about writing everything in the title. Well, ok then. But just for the record, this one’s:

Get the look! Country garden wedding inspiration board
Please do indulge my wedding inspiration board phase… I absolutely love doing these right now! Perhaps it’s because I’m being sent so many brilliant photos at the moment. Wedding photographers are such a generous and creative bunch of people
So — this is part 3 of Claudia and John’s wedding in Devon, on the English Wedding blog. They combined their Australian heritage with a vintage inspired, English country garden theme and created something really special. Here’s how you can recreate that look for your own wedding day!

Alternative, fun vintage wedding: get the look!
Morning everyone! Hope you’re having a good day already, I know I am — it’s all systems go with a fab wedding calligraphy order today. I’m feeling sunny inside and loving my work!
Here’s hoping I can pass some of these smiley vibes to you! How? With a bit of wedding inspiration for you…
Yesterday on the English Wedding blog I featured Lisa and Dean’s fab alternative wedding, which Photo Shmoto’s Laura submitted to me a couple of weeks ago. I loved the style of their day and thought you’d love a separate feature, a ‘get the look’ blog post with those lovely electric and pastel blues and lots of yummy vintage details.
Vintage inspired London wedding — with bundles of details for inspiration
It’s easy to see why vintage inspired weddings are so popular. There’s something about vintage decor and accessories — like delving into an old treasure chest, finding beautiful sparkly things which aren’t just beautiful but have histories and memories of their own. I think that’s why vintage weddings have such an appeal, and Denise and Luca’s wedding really captured the essence of vintage for me.

Vintage Wedding Treats
My plan today was to write a little post about wedding accessories from Vintage Twee. Owned by the loveliest lady in all of weddingland, as inspiring and gorgeous as it gets, I was excited to hear last week about some new wedding favours and accessories Joanne had just designed.
That was the plan.
Quality handcrafted vintage wedding decorations
Joanne had also mentioned a new website for Vintage Twee was on the way. Lovely, I thought. And as I sat down to write — I’ll just have a quick look, open up the website and have all the details to hand of these new rose confetti cones and vintage music sheet cones.
