Capturing a wedding day in a more natural, documentary style is wonderful. It allows for all the emotions, love and laughter to be photographed in an unobtrusive way and gives you an amazing record of the day to look back on. My approach is all about capturing the day as it happens in order to create beautiful storytelling images that go further than just recording who was present. I love to photograph the natural moments and the in-between bits; the happy tears as you say ‘I do’, the embarrassed faces during the speeches, the proud smile on your granddad’s face as he watches you walk down the aisle. These are the photos I love to capture and the moments that make an image into something very special. However, I also totally appreciate that this is the one day where all your family, friends and loved ones are there at the same time. There is still a place for doing group photos.
Morning lovely! Today we join stunning bride Sheila and her handsome hubby Paul, who were married in Ely, Cambridgeshire. These two are adorable together, their day shines with happiness and I love every moment of it. The styling touches are so prettily done too – and it’s all captured beautifully by lovely London wedding photographer Fiona Kelly Photography.

How did you choose your photographer?
Fiona was recommended to us by another photographer. Once we saw her style of photography, we knew she was the person we wanted to capture our day. We were also lucky enough to have Jesse as a second photographer.
I thought I was anti-racist. Now I know nothing I’ve thought, said or done has ever been enough. I’ve acted irresponsibly as a wedding blogger and publisher, and from today I want to change everything. I sent this blog post as an email to our wedding supplier contacts and I’ve had 10 replies to date… so I’m reaching out to all of our readers because I need your help to make this happen!
