The Elite: Chris Hanley Interview
The second in my series introducing you to the Elite of the UK wedding industry: Chris Hanley is a top UK wedding photographer, always in demand for weddings at fabulous venues and a definite personal favourite of mine!
This year Chris’s work has been chosen by Queensberry to promote their luxury wedding albums, by Chanticleer Bride to promote their 2012 collection and by Hengrave Hall to promote one of the UK’s luxury wedding venues. Chris is an elite wedding photographer, a talent, a master of his craft, a gentleman and… quite cheeky. The Elite welcomes Chris Hanley Photography.
Pretty in Pink! Wedding inspiration board
Some classic pink wedding inspiration from Suzy and Bruno’s Hengrave Hall wedding…

Wedding inspiration — Pretty in Pink
Choose a focus for your wedding decorations — don’t spend a fortune on every detail, but choose something fabulous that will be a real talking point: in Suzy and Bruno’s case, the table centrepieces are statuesque and colourful with roses, feathers and foliage perched on glass pillars.
Keep your details elegant and simple: a wedding table plan focusing on word art is a great idea. Suzy and Bruno chose simple pink flowers for the four edges of their plan and an ornate black frame which I love.
Suzy and Bruno’s spectacular Hengrave Hall wedding 2

Morning everyone! I hope you slept well last night… or were you, like me, wondering if our lovely groom Bruno would survive yesterday’s flower girl feather stick ambush?! Well I have good news for you… he did! And today I’m delighted to bring you part two of the 200th real wedding on English Wedding Blog.

Thanks again to Chris Hanley Photography for sharing such incredible images for this feature. I am always blown away by the magic inside Chris’s camera. Today we’re back at Hengrave Hall in Suffolk for more from beautiful Suzy and Bruno — who is responsible for my favourite image from this wedding day: the most loving hug you’ll ever see on a wedding blog!
English Wedding Blog’s 200th real wedding!

This one had to be special. When I blog a wedding I look for creativity, for ideas, for beauty. English Wedding blog features are about elegance and quality, about enjoyment, diversion and making our eyes happy. Real wedding number two hundred had to have something more.

I found Suzy and Bruno’s wedding on Chris Hanley’s blog. It’s packed with wow — so much so, I’m blogging the wedding day in three parts. Today: join me in a virtual stroll around Hengrave Hall wedding venue where we’ll set the scene for the day, meet the beautiful Suzy, her charming new husband Bruno and their pretty bridesmaids all enjoying the luxury of one of Suffolk’s finest stately homes.
Once upon a time…
A girl lived with her mother on the outskirts of a smoky city. The girl was beautiful: she had a gentle smile and kind eyes with a little laughter behind them. Her hair was the colour of sunshine and she wore red. She loved red. She always wore red.
The beautiful girl was in love. She was looking forward to seeing her beloved for a special date, so she decided to take a short cut through the forest to meet him. Smiling as she plucked her favourite cape from by the door – for she loved to be noticed – the beautiful girl stepped outside. Heads turned.
Beach Bride™ — an unforgettable bridal shoot
There’s something enchanting in the dramatic beauty of the seaside. The beach isn’t all about buckets and spades: if you’re going to the beach any time soon, do what I’ll be doing and find a quiet spot, watch the waves, see the life and spirit of nature out there. Sometimes there’s nothing more fascinating than the wild beaches around our shores.
I have another breathtaking collection of photographs for you, this time with a seaside twist. Photos and words by Chris Hanley Photography…
Get the look! Wedding inspiration
Hands up who loves Parma Violets?! I do. And I do even more now I’ve seen Jayne and Phil’s parma violet inspired wedding reception at the Lowry, Manchester. With all photos by Chris Hanley Photography, take a peek at this fab wedding inspiration board — it’s purple-tastic.
Jayne and Phil’s wedding was at The Lowry in Manchester, a modern theatre with creative interiors in every colour you can imagine. The wedding reception room however is a blank canvas, so Jayne and Phil chose shades of purple to make it look amazing for their wedding day.

A rainbow of colours, an artist’s palette: Lowry wedding
The Lowry, Manchester. This is a wedding venue and theatre (not usually in that order) in the heart of the newly developed Salford Quays district, close by Media City and a haven for creative types. The Lowry is named after Manchester’s famous artist L S Lowry, he of the matchstick men: stick figures huddled against the rain in greys and browns and gritty landscapes.

Horses for courses… creative bridal shoot!
When I couldn’t resist posting “Bride. Horse. Bus Stop.” on facebook, you loved it as much as I did!
Inspired by my visit to The Riverside Studio and my Proper Interview with the delightful Chris Hanley, I’d been poking around the albums on display and — sorry to say I think I actually squeaked when I saw this photo.
So in the tradition of creative bridal shoots and inspiring wedding photography, I bring you this absolute treat: Lucy’s Chris Hanley Photography shoot. Let your eyes have some fun!
Tales from the Riverside: an inspiration
Monday was a wonderful day: the perfect day for an intrepid wedding blogger to grab her little Vespa and head for the hills. Setting off from my south Manchester base mid-morning I scooted bravely along country roads (at times yelling wheeeeeeee as I went) and went to interview star wedding photographer Chris Hanley at The Riverside Studio.
