Lisa’s stand was a busy one at The Wed­ding Show on Sat­ur­day, and we barely had time to say hello and admire one of her beau­ti­ful table plans. What did strike me imme­di­ately was the qual­ity of her wed­ding sta­tionery. Invi­ta­tions were beau­ti­fully made, table plans flaw­less, and there was an air of ele­gance and sophis­ti­ca­tion about the exhi­bi­tion stand.  Read more…

The Wedding Show stars: Kate Lewis

Kate Lewis’s back­ground is in fash­ion design. She told me she’s always sur­prised — and pleased — when brides fall in love with her sketched wed­ding invi­ta­tion designs. The Wedding Show Stars: Mossy

Walk­ing around The Wed­ding Show about this time last week I was delighted to spot Mossy in the cor­ner in his famous — yes, famous! — stripey jacket.

If you don’t know who Mossy is, you should! Luck­ily enough, in just a sec­ond or two, you will! I first saw Mossy’s work years ago when I began my cal­lig­ra­phy busi­ness. Mossy is a wed­ding car­i­ca­tur­ist with tons of per­son­al­ity, instantly recog­nis­able across a crowded mar­quee (be it at your wed­ding day or at a show like Tat­ton) and some­one I’ve admired from afar for years. Tatton Wedding Show: Highlights

I had a really great time at The Wed­ding Show last week­end and from every­thing I saw and heard, so did every­one else who was there! If you missed it, here’s your chance to see the best bits in five min­utes or less…

Arriv­ing at The Wed­ding Show in our lit­tle car — it was a gor­geous bright and sunny day — per­fect for a drive in the country.

Tat­ton is a grand old coun­try estate with a deer park, gar­dens and the rest — far nicer than an inner city exhi­bi­tion cen­tre if you ask me!  Read more…

Tatton Wedding Show — in pictures

Red Flo­ral Archi­tec­ture was a real star of the show for me — with incred­i­ble flower designs in the entrance as well as on their stand. More to come later in the week!

The ice sculp­tures were impres­sive! I loved the wed­ding table plan (lam­i­nated and then… glazed?) encased in ice and the way it flows around the edges. Beau­ti­ful! This was by Glacial Art — award win­ning, inter­na­tion­ally renowned mas­ter crafts­men.  Read more…

Who’s talking about The Wedding Show at Tatton?

I’m super-organised. Always have been — thanks Dad! If I catch a train I’m there 15 min­utes before­hand in case there’s a queue for tick­ets. If I’ve got an appoint­ment I get every­thing ready the night before.… and the week before a wed­ding show, I’m googling con­stantly to see who’s exhibit­ing, who’s vis­it­ing, who’s excited about it all.

Tatton Wedding Show 2011 – top tips!

I will be blog­ging about The Wed­ding Show at Tat­ton Park on Sat­ur­day — the plan is to tweet and blog pho­tos and rec­om­men­da­tions through­out the day, with proper write ups about my favourite things on Sun­day and next week.
