Shopping guide

How are you getting on with your wedding budget? I’m always impressed by brides and grooms to be, who are some of the savviest shoppers around! You rock! But I know it can be tricky to keep on top of all those little extras you buy for your wedding, things like table decorations, gifts for the bridal party, wedding favours and accessories.

It can also take hours of your time: searching for the perfect bridal jewellery or your ideal wedding favours can be fun at first, but after a couple of hours googling the novelty might begin to wear off!

This wedding shopping guide is here to help you save time and money, not on the big stuff like venues and catering, photography and cars, but on all the wedding fashion, accessories and decorations you’ll need for your big day. I hope you find it useful.

This guide to wedding dress shopping will help you get started on the wonderful adventure that is buying a wedding dress!

It will help you decide how much to spend on a wedding dress, whether you’re marrying into royalty, or a savvy budget bride.

I’ve written about wedding dress shapes and sizes, what style and shape of dress will suit different figures and when to wear a dress with peacock feathers.

The guide also looks at places to buy a wedding dress, meeting the dress designers themselves, going vintage with your wedding dress or getting a bargain. (more…)

Groom’s shopping guide

Especially for grooms, this page covers options for buying a wedding suit — does it have to have tails? What about a top hat? Does my tie have to match the flowers? What’s the difference between a morning suit and a lounge suit?

I’ve done some research to help you find great deals at some of the top online retailers, and how much you might expect to pay for a bespoke suit, a luxury tailored suit and a high street wedding suit.

I’ve also written a little introduction about wedding accessories for guys. It’s not just about top hats and cufflinks, there are important things like socks to consider. Black? Wallace & Gromit? Or perhaps something a little more quirky and fun?! (more…)
