What do you love most about wed­ding photography?

“Watch­ing love and pho­tograph­ing it. Moments of ten­der­ness between a bride and groom, a par­ent hold­ing their child, the wicked laugh­ter of chil­dren play­ing. Get­ting the very best out peo­ple in front of my lens.”

What one piece of advice would you give read­ers of Eng­lish Wedding?

“If you like some­thing or some­one, buy it or book it. The very best in the wed­ding indus­try get booked very quickly and if you don’t secure it for your­self you can bet your bot­tom dol­lar some­one else will.”

What inspires you?

“Light, beau­ti­ful dif­fuse north fac­ing light, the kind of light that folds around you, that puts inter­est­ing catch­lights in eyes. I like morn­ing or evening light that has a warm tone, I love light that dances through leaves, or plays on water, and I love the light that falls on a face from an open refrig­er­a­tor door in a dark­ened kitchen. Light makes me want to photograph.”
