If you are considering hiring a wedding planner it’s important to find someone who will provide exactly what you need. Most professional wedding planners now offer various packages depending on how much help you need, when you need it and how much involvement you want to have in your wedding planning.

UKAWP members are vetted for honesty, professionalism and experience

One of the main reasons for the existence of the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners is to act as a reliable reference point for you, the bride. If you are looking for a professional wedding planner, this is the place for you. All members have been vetted for their honesty, professionalism and experience. They all offer a consultation where you can discuss your wedding in more detail and how they may be able to help you.

If you’re the kind of bride who has a demanding worklife, works hard and plays hard, having a planner at hand becomes more essential. These days with couples marrying slightly later, it’s entirely normal that the bride has a demanding career or the couple might even have young children to take care of.

And weddings are every year becoming more and more unique and personalised (and that takes time and effort to produce always). Combine all of this together and you have a potential recipe for major stress.

A professional wedding planner will not only save you time, but negotiate cost savings for you, give you sound and professional advice, access to tried and tested suppliers and produce an event that looks and feels simply perfect.

What is the UKAWP?

The UKAWP was set up in 2004 to promote professionalism in wedding planning. Its three Directors are all themselves operating wedding planners and ambassadors for the industry as a whole. The UKAWP offers training courses for wedding planners and has a members list of tried and tested good wedding planners to help you make the right choice.

Why consider hiring a UKAWP wedding planner?

Vetted and checked with sound references

UKAWP wedding planners are vetted and reference checked, which is important in an unregulated industry. They have had their key business materials vetted by UKAWP and, in the case of full member planners, supplier and client references sought.

Committed to customer experience and improvement

UKAWP planners believe in investing in training and their continued learning. Members regularly attend seminars, networking events and internal meetings in order to share ideas and ensure that they are at the forefront of the industry and offering the very best customer experience.

Access to a support network for your peace of mind

Most independent wedding planning companies are small (often one person) businesses; as a result this can be worrying for brides and grooms in the case of illness or emergency. UKAWP members have access to a large group of experienced planners who can step in on your wedding with ease if necessary.

Professional and with high standards

UKAWP planners adhere to a code of ethics and good business practice which aims to promote the high standards of members and offers reassurance to couples. They will…

  • Respond to enquiries within 48 hours
  • Respect client confidentiality
  • Disclose all suppliers that they have a vested interest in
  • Always pass discounts and / or commission on to the client
  • Ensure their Public Liability Insurance is up to date
  • Never give client details to any third party unless for the sole purpose of the wedding
  • Respect copyright of all planners, co-ordinators and related suppliers
  • Represent each client fairly and honestly

Finding a UKAWP member wedding planner is easy: all UKAWP members are listed by region on an interactive wedding planner map at www.ukawp.com/directory_uk
