  1. I love your blog and website. There is a lot on the net but little I feel of “inside advice”. I give all those who come to view our venue (Heskin Hall Lancashire) a quick run through of things to look out for. Beware those venues who have more than one wedding simultaneously. Make sure you verify which facilities are yours — particularly garden or photography space. Some charge extra and some even double book! Also look out for the “little extras” like charges for crockery, cutlery, topiary and even moving furniture! I can go on and on! Sometimes it makes me mad to be in the business when I hear about this kind of thing. Not one whit of which, I hasten to add, happens at this venue. Here we know the day belongs to the happy couple and their guests.
