Debbie and Matthew’s surprise Buckinghamshire wedding

A long awaited proposal and a secret, intimate wedding are hiding in my little box of tricks for you today my lovely readers. Debbie and Matthew, and their little boy Noah, celebrated their surprise wedding in superb style — although they tell me the decor was “a bit of a mis-match”!
Their wedding photographer Natasha Thompson submitted this wedding for the blog many weeks ago, and Matthew and Debbie (I think mainly Matthew) sent their wedding report back to me this week, along with the sweetest note: “Sorry this has taken so long, we have just had a baby!” So first of all let me say a huge Congratulations to you both, and I’ll hand over to you and to Natasha with her beautiful photographs of your intimate wedding.
A musical English wedding at Buxted Park
Matthew and Alyson’s wedding is elegance itself: with a musical flavour lending personality to the day and beauty and simplicity styling their celebrations. Alyson’s wedding dress by Suzanne Neville has a dreamy nostalgia and the 1940s style of her dress and headdress influenced the theme of today’s wedding blog.
The wedding colours are purest whites; the wedding venue is divine; the weather for this November wedding day was bright, and crisp — the perfect day for a wedding.
Photography is by Sussex wedding photographer Sara Reeve, and Alyson has written the loveliest wedding report to share with us all today. Enjoy!

A warming winter wedding at The Ashes
It’s a bit spooky: the second wedding in as many weeks I’ve seen from The Ashes — a wedding venue I hadn’t heard of before. But it’s gorgeous: as we sink into autumn this wedding has all the loveliest, richest autumn colours and tones — like a virtual hot toddy in the world of wedding blogs.

The wedding day begins with this beautifully cold countryside scene — this is The Ashes wedding venue in the heart of Staffordshire, a grade two listed family home with converted barns providing the perfect secluded setting for a private wedding reception.
Happy together — a real winter wedding
I love this wedding from photographer Sam Clayton and I’m delighted to be sharing these photographs of Sarah and John-Paul’s wedding day with you.
The motorbikes caught my eye first of all, and then the wedding details stole my heart — I love the warmth that flows through the day, from the rich oranges in Sarah’s bouquet to the steaming tea cups (so chunky! A refreshing change from vintage dainty ones!) at the roadside caff.
Daily wedding discoveries — best of the web
Wedding specialist Billy Idol’s been at it again and found this gorgeous wedding blogged over at Craig Williams Photography. I love this image most of all… there’s something very Little Red Riding Hood about it — the whole wedding shoot is fab, do check it out.

Is this really Billy Idol? Why? (clue: no)
Wind and rain for a winter wedding gets the biggest smiles I’ve seen!
Posed wedding photography can be stunning — but today this natural picture of Jane’s brilliant smile from under a sea of umbrellas with rain pouring down is so wonderful, I love it!
There’s so much to this Beeston Manor wedding I didn’t know what to call the blog post. I could have started with the lovely purple theme and details: the quirky bouquet made of satin roses, buttons and beads, interwoven with family heirlooms is gorgeous.
A winter wedding to warm your cockles and make you cry!
Don’t worry — you will be shedding happy tears as you read Jemma’s story about her winter wedding day. This is one of the loveliest things I’ve ever read and I was smiling and crying all the way!
Jemma did a write up for their friends and family who couldn’t be there on the day, which is such a lovely thing to do — and will make an enchanting keepsake for future generations! The text below is a collection of extracts from Jemma’s write up, just selected parts to accompany the beautiful pictures. Jemma’s an incredible writer and as this is her wedding I won’t interfere by adding my own comments — these are all Jemma’s words.
Wedding digest: Andrew and Claire
I can’t resist a snowy wedding scene, and Claire’s purple dress is a gorgeously creative touch — so here’s a very quick blog post to show you the latest from Cumbria wedding photographer Chris Freer’s own blog.
I love the blanket of snow and the open landscape with the mountains behind — and Claire’s purple dress is fantastic for a winter wedding with a white backdrop! Doesn’t she look incredible.
From time to time I’ll be posting just a couple of pictures of a wedding day with creative touches I love — in this case, Claire’s dress and the snowy scenes. These posts will be filed under a new category: Wedding digest.
