A warming winter wedding at The Ashes
It’s a bit spooky: the second wedding in as many weeks I’ve seen from The Ashes — a wedding venue I hadn’t heard of before. But it’s gorgeous: as we sink into autumn this wedding has all the loveliest, richest autumn colours and tones — like a virtual hot toddy in the world of wedding blogs.
The wedding day begins with this beautifully cold countryside scene — this is The Ashes wedding venue in the heart of Staffordshire, a grade two listed family home with converted barns providing the perfect secluded setting for a private wedding reception.

A biker bride and groom?
The motorbikes caught my eye first of all, and then the wedding details stole my heart — I love the warmth that flows through the day, from the rich oranges in Sarah’s bouquet to the steaming tea cups (so chunky! A refreshing change from vintage dainty ones!) at the roadside caff.

There’s so much to this Beeston Manor wedding I didn’t know what to call the blog post. I could have started with the lovely purple theme and details: the quirky bouquet made of satin roses, buttons and beads, interwoven with family heirlooms is gorgeous.

Jemma did a write up for their friends and family who couldn’t be there on the day, which is such a lovely thing to do — and will make an enchanting keepsake for future generations! This week is going to be all about smiles and happiness and wedding ideas. What better way to start than with a wedding, hey? So … your intrepid wedding blogger Claire runs off, checks files for smiliest bride and groom and… Oh yes. This is Perfect with a capital P! Nicola and Stewart at Cave Castle Hotel in East Yorkshire.
Nicola and Stewart’s wedding was just before Christmas at a venue I’ve not seen before (but instantly loved!) and their photos are beautiful and inspiring — their wedding photographer is Pete Barnes who’s based in Wakefield.

I can’t resist a snowy wedding scene, and Claire’s purple dress is a gorgeously creative touch — so here’s a very quick blog post to show you the latest from Cumbria wedding photographer Chris Freer’s own blog.
I love the blanket of snow and the open landscape with the mountains behind — and Claire’s purple dress is fantastic for a winter wedding with a white backdrop! Doesn’t she look incredible.

Snow White Wedding

It seems so long since we had all that lovely white snow across England in January, but looking at this wedding brings it all back in the most magical of ways.
Fiona and Peter were married in early January, and the gorgeous winter weather really made it a day to remember. The gorgeous wintry white of their wedding day is really beautiful. Photographer Marianne Taylor submitted their English winter wedding for the blog, and it’s such a pleasure to share it here.

I love a winter wedding! There’s something indulgent and exciting about getting married on a crisp winter’s day, and our wonderful English stately homes are the perfect setting for ceremonies and celebrations alike.
