Brick House Farm creative wedding reception

So today I have a treat for you — part two of Tanya and Andy’s lovely relaxed, family orientated wedding. There’s something so special about doing things your own way: from the wedding ceremony where all the children had tambourines, to Tanya’s beautiful and unconventional wedding dress.

I would shout from the rooftops about making your wedding personal to you, about sidestepping tradition and making a wedding a celebration of who you really are. Today, I don’t need to: Tanya and Andy are showing us exactly what that means and how special and perfect it can be.
A beautiful real wedding at Brick House Farm

Today’s wedding blog is for all you brides and grooms planning a relaxed, informal and fun day: a wedding without stuffy rules, constraints and conventions. Tanya and Andy had a fabulous creative wedding at Brick House Farm in Kent, and reportage wedding photographer Mark Carey was first to tell me about their day.

I instantly loved the few images he shared with me. I knew I had to email Tanya right away and she was kind enough to share her amazing wedding story for the blog. It’s a wonderful tale — here is a bride with imagination and a wonderful confidence to create a really personal wedding day.
A beautiful, classy Cheshire wedding — blog two
Yesterday I shared Andrea and Richard’s classy wedding in Cheshire. They were married in July and despite the rain it was a beautiful celebration: not least for Andrea’s stunning halterneck wedding dress and the inclusion of their adorable little son and the cutest EVER bridesmaid and flower girl.
I saved lots and lots of gorgeous images of the wedding reception for you. A deliciously sophisticated garden wedding reception, this blog post is full of ideas for styling your day — as well as the usual collection of beautiful wedding photos to make you smile and dream of your own wedding day!
A classic English wedding day
The scene for today’s wedding blog post is The Manor By The Lake. The tone of the day is beautiful, cheeky and fun. The bride and groom are Dawn and Gavin, very much in love and all smiles from beginning to end.
The wedding photographers are Jenny and Keith McAvoy, aka McAvoy Photography. They’re the perfect team to shoot this wedding day — fun loving and relaxed, with an eye for the quirky, contemporary photography that’s just right for Dawn and Gavin’s wedding day.
I shan’t waffle: I’ll leave you to read and enjoy.

Cricket with oranges and lemons — wedding!
I haven’t quite lost the plot… I’ve been inspired by a creative wedding day with a super English theme: cricket! Heidi and Kato were married at Buxted Park Hotel in the summer, their theme was oranges and lemons and the groom’s cricket team made an appearance to give some of the most memorable wedding photos I’ve seen!
Once more, this is all about creativity on English Wedding blog. The team photos with the gorgeous bride taking centre stage (“at the fore?” or is that golf?!…) are just brilliant.
Wish you were here? …a wedding in Cornwall
Hello! How do you fancy being whisked away this morning? As I sit at my desk to write this wedding blog post I’m still dreaming of my holiday in Cornwall last month: golden sands, rich blue seas, sunshine and happy days with family… and I’m sat here with my chin on my hands, wishing I could be magically transported back to the seaside just for a little while longer!
Beautiful serenity: a real wedding in Bristol
Emma and Duncan were married in Bristol earlier in the year. Sometimes when I see a wedding for the first time I’m in quiet awe of the bride’s beauty, the atmosphere of the day and the lovely pictures. In this case wedding photographer Matt Tordoff had me almost holding my breath as I looked through the wedding photos.
I hope I can share that impression with you today: of quiet serenity, a sense of calm and pure beauty in these wonderful wedding images.
A wedding at Styal Lodge
Come and join me for this enchanting wedding at one of Cheshire’s most luxurious wedding venues. Built especially for weddings, Styal Lodge is a pretty cool place — and Charlotte and James’s wedding shows off all its best bits!
First seen on the English Wedding Showcase, I love the fun elements of this wedding day: there’s a great picture of the bridal party with funky umbrellas, and towards the end a lovely portrait picture is completely thrown by the arrival of a naughty spider… McAvoy Photography really do capture the fun and playfulness in a wedding day and I’m sure you’ll love this as much as I do.

Sam and Kev’s London wedding
One sunny day in Chelsea, a bride-to-be gets ready with her best friends and closest family. There’s a knock on the door and little feet rush to answer. It’s a man with a camera. Enter reportage wedding photographer Mark Carey, delighted to be greeted by the cutest of cute little girls (that’ll be bride Sam’s adorable little daughter) and set to capture a gorgeous wedding day on camera.
Tears of joy — a Maynard Hotel wedding
Hello there! How’s your morning going so far? Mine: busy, happy, having fun being creative. And the best bit is the real wedding I have for you today.
A Derbyshire wedding from my friend Mark at Tierney Photography, this one really struck me because of the happy tears — it’s a beautiful occasion full of feeling as well as there being such stunning photographs in the glorious Peak District. I spent the first few years of my life living in this area, and I love the wild moorland and beautiful landscapes — this feels a bit like coming home.
