The best day of your lives… part one

Who remembers blinking in amazement and squealing in delight at the couple whose mad, exciting and painty engagement shoot I featured a little while ago? The one where they got covered in it, wrote LOVE on the wall and had to go home painted pink, yellow and blue from head to toe?

It was brilliant. I loved it. You loved it… with all your blog comments it went down a treat. And then David and Rachel got married. And the wedding day is EVEN BETTER! (of course it is… but as creative and inspiring and fun goes, it’s just incredible).

International wedding in London — Heather and Titus

You’ll love this, it’s a wonderful story and a gorgeous celebration of love. Heather and Titus were married in London a few weeks ago, bringing together their families from Canada and Scotland. One beautiful moment caught my eye when I first saw the wedding on the Green Olive Wedding Photography blog — Titus wraps Heather all up in the biggest, cuddliest hug you could imagine — and in seconds my heart melted. Watch out for that pic as you enjoy the images kindly submitted by Green Olive Wedding Photography.

Crazy Little Thing Called Love… real wedding

Dean and Lisa met at a wedding, fell in love and got married earlier this year. Wedding photographers Photo Shmoto jumped at the opportunity to photograph a quirky wedding and likewise I loved all the little touches — and of course Lisa and Dean’s fabulously individual style.

The wedding was at Edes House in Chichester followed by the reception at No 12 wine bar & restaurant in the centre of town.

The colour scheme for Dean and Lisa’s wedding was blue; the theme was most definitely individuality and personality — these two are fab! From this lovely pic of Dean’s thin blue tie and rose / gypsophila buttonhole we skip to…

Your wedding in the roaring twenties — at the delectable Daffodil

Sometimes a breathtaking wedding venue can set the tone for your entire wedding day. If you book The Daffodil in Cheltenham you’ll be whisked right back to the art deco era, as Duncan and Natalie found, much to their delight!

Unique and inspiring real wedding

A passionate kiss and a fantastic image with vintage processing

A passionate kiss and a fantastic image with vintage processing

How to describe this wedding in a short title… yikes: couldn’t do it! Nicky and Martyn will be familiar to many of you from the English Wedding e-shoot week we did in January. Little did I know when I featured one of wedding photographer Mark Tierney’s favourite engagement shoots that the couple were already married and that their wedding photographs would blow me away.

Quirky and fabulous Dartington Hall wedding reception

Sparkly winter wedding decorations

Jo and Dom’s wedding decorations are gorgeous — but the photography makes them magical, theatrical and more

Yesterday’s wedding was fantastic — but I had so many wonderful images to show you I had to hold back the very best for today. It’s time for Dom and Jo’s unique wedding reception at Dartington Hall.

This couple are fantastic, and their friends and family are real characters. Wedding photographer Chris Hanley said their day was full of warmth and love — and it really is special. The best thing about Dom and Jo being on English Wedding is that they’re just like you and me — the beautiful thing about their wedding is their personalities and how they’ve made their celebration really personal, memorable and just right for them.

Quirky and fabulous Dartington Hall wedding

Wedding shoes for a quirky lady with bags of character and class

Wedding shoes for a quirky and sophisticated bride with bags of character and class…

What makes every wedding special for me is personality and character. And I believe with all my heart that everyone has a unique spark which makes them wonderful. The trick is showing it — and in the case of Jo and Dom’s wedding those little sparks are everywhere.

These two are best of friends, soulmates and so much more — and every photograph shows what a fabulous couple they are. Thank you as ever to “friend of English Wedding” and top wedding photographer Chris Hanley for sharing these photographs with us.

English Wedding best of 2010: inspiration

One of my favourite real weddings from 2010 was submitted by the brilliant photographer Joseph Yarrow. I always think Joseph gets the very best out of the brides and grooms he photographs because he clicks with them, and the results are always amazing. In the case of Jodie and David’s colourful wedding, I had to write two blog features: this is called…

A couple in love

Bride and groom in love

Bride and groom in love

Part two of Laura and Julian’s wedding is all about the love — their eyes only for each other, the intimate moments captured beautifully on film and the lovely atmosphere of quiet celebration all make for a blog I’m so proud to be able to share with you today. (See yesterday’s amazing photographs of the church and ceremony.)

I love Laura’s dress and her bridal style, the Alice band and everything about her. I live for weddings which are a little alternative, totally unique and beautifully romantic. This, for me, is a perfect wedding.
