The Luxury Wedding Show — what it’s really like inside!

Only three weeks ago I was wist­fully telling my friend and spon­sor Wendy Bell how I’d love to go to The Lux­ury Wed­ding Show — if only all the events weren’t so far away from my lit­tle base in Cheshire (I know, piti­ful isn’t it…)

The Lux­ury Wed­ding Show seems to have cor­nered a niche in the UK wed­ding mar­ket — and not only that, there’s a won­der­fully voyeuris­tic appeal too. From gor­geous designer wed­ding invi­ta­tions to flow­ers and cakes, decor and more — it’s great to see the best in the UK wed­ding indus­try. Even if you’re not splash­ing out on a lux­ury wed­ding, wouldn’t it be fun to go and look around any­way, see what the more extrav­a­gant brides are buy­ing? I know I’d love to see these shows from a wed­ding supplier’s point of view as well.  Read more…

Yes, I’ll Marry You, My Dear… Kingscote Barn wedding

Joanna and Angus got mar­ried at Kingscote Barn in Glouces­ter­shire at the begin­ning of the year; a day full of romance, shared glances and ele­gant, indi­vid­ual style. Joanna’s wed­ding dress and jacket are gor­geous; Angus looks the part in top hat and tails. I adore the brides­maids’ capes (want one!) — as soon as they caught my eye, I wanted this par­tic­u­larly won­der­ful wed­ding to show you on Eng­lish Wed­ding blog.  Read more…

Def­i­nitely not work. Fri­day after­noon, are we all gaz­ing wist­fully out­side at the last ves­tiges of sun­shine as the bright­ness fades just in time for the week­end? Ah well. Ide­ally we’d be sat out­side a lit­tle pave­ment cafe in a lit­tle out-of-the-way place or people-watching out­side a bar in the city cen­tre — nei­ther plan­ning wed­dings or work­ing, while the sun­shine lasts!

Stum­bling across excit­ing new design­ers and breath­tak­ing pho­tog­ra­phy is one of the best bits of being a wed­ding blog­ger. Erica Stacey is a bridal designer in Man­ches­ter whose first bridal­wear col­lec­tion was launched ear­lier this year. Erica’s inspi­ra­tion comes from Art Deco, and her gowns are all made in the UK. Her wed­ding dresses are sim­ply out of this world.

A summer house wedding at Wasing Park

Wasing park wedding photo blog (20)The quaint lit­tle sum­mer­house, all white with blue inside and painted apple blos­som… the gor­geous bride (I almost called this wed­ding blog post “The most beau­ti­ful girl in the world”) and a lovely Eng­lish wed­ding day unfolds in pictures…

Ruth and Tris­tan were mar­ried at Was­ing Park, with their cer­e­mony in the Vic­to­rian sum­mer house and a recep­tion in the con­verted barn. They planned the wed­ding in just 9 months — and did a won­der­ful job with it all. Their wed­ding pho­tog­ra­pher was Michelle Joubert-Martin.
