A shameless plug…
“Hmmm”, said Claire one January morning as she battled with her stupid tax return.
“Hmmm, I wonder if I can get away with blogging about my very own English Wedding facebook page today.”
Over in the corner, the taxman nodded sagely, looking at his watch.
Thought Claire, “Well, I have just uploaded a batch of rather special wedding photos from a few of the real weddings I’m about to blog.” and then, looking vaguely guilty, “and it did take a whole five minutes to do that.”
Wedding planning workshop
Planning a wedding — it must be one of the hardest projects in a girl’s life! Second to A-Levels, wedding planning must take so much time and effort — I honestly don’t know how you all do it. For some of you, wedding planners will be the answer. But did you know there’s a very affordable way to get a wedding planner’s knowledge in your own head? Over to Julie Dawson aka The Wedding Genie to tell you more…

New blogger bride on the blogging block!
Hello fellow B2B! Delighted to make your acquaintance, especially via Claire’s great site which I love perusing as I plan for my own wedding. I’m really thrilled to join Fran, Angharad and Loulabelle as a guest blogger bride and hope you’ll enjoy my posts here on english-wedding.com and maybe even have a peek at my own site: www.awarwickshirewedding.com.

Find yourself a winning wedding supplier!
The 2012 Wedding Industry Awards Event was held last night, with winners in the national categories announced. Congratulations to all the winning wedding suppliers — well deserved in every category.
In the spirit of the fabulous organisation of this event, the national results are already on the official website (somebody must be updating the site with a sore head this morning!) for the world to see.
Doing sunflowers with style: Mitton Hall wedding

This cute hand-drawn card for “Miss Payne and Adam” got me first. Then I fell in love with the sense of camaraderie at Alexis and Adam’s Mitton Hall wedding. The icing on the cake was — well, the gorgeous little cake sculptures which are little adventures of quirkiness all to themselves.

I feel as though I’ve followed Alexis’s wedding planning journey a little, and I was excited to see her wedding day — I’d heard all about the lovely lady from my friend and wedding photographer Jonny Draper months and months ago when we first met.
Days to Go: 82
Lots of things have been happening! I can’t believe we’re down to double figures with the days to go!
My friends have been planning my very secret hen do. All I know is where we’re going, what time I need to be there and that at some point we will be eating! I love surprises but I’m so curious about what we’ll be doing! I really want to be sneaky and find out but in all honesty I do love surprises.

Wedding planning or work?
For the first time this year, to brighten your Friday, here’s a bit of wedding blog love for you to enjoy!
This one’s been a long time coming, has it not? And I’m especially sympathetic to everyone in an office out there this week: I feel your pain, having spent much of this week surrounded in piles of paper — I’ve been doing my accounts. Ick!
But this… now this is fun. For me it’s research. For you it’s half an hour or more, as you wish, reading and getting inspired and looking at gorgeous pics!
New sponsor welcome: Wendy Bell Designs
Hi again! Time for some pretty unique wedding invitation designs to show you — beautiful, creative and standout wedding invites from Wendy Bell Designs.
I featured Wendy’s London wedding on the blog back in 2011 — she’d designed all her own stationery to fit with her choice of wedding venue, and it was absolutely divine! Wendy’s bespoke wedding invitation service promises to be outstanding, so do check out her official website to find out more.
As a sponsor of English Wedding blog, Wendy Bell Designs now has a dedicated Showcase Page which I think you’ll love — there are more pics on there of her personalised wedding invitation designs, alongside info on the bespoke wedding invitation service.
A Derbyshire wedding — part two
Yesterday I was delighted to share Nicola and Bertie’s beautiful Derbyshire wedding blog with you — with the most gorgeous photos from Kirsten Mavric.
Nicola was a truly beautiful bride in an exquisite lace wedding dress by Sassi Holford, marrying Bertie in a Derbyshire village church with an old English feel to the day. I loved their focus on family and friends, and hearing about Nicola’s jewellery — all family heirlooms — was a real treat.

Today it’s time for the wedding reception, and I’ll leave you with part two of Nicola’s wedding story to enjoy!
