I’m very much in awe of wedding photographer Katy Lunsford right now. I spotted Sarah and Dan’s wedding on Katy’s blog and the beauty of it all — from the colours to the blog itself to bride Sarah — took my breath away.
So I had to give this blog post — which I’m actually feeling really honoured to be featuring on English Wedding — a great title. I got stuck: could I name it after the gorgeous reds and purples, or after Sarah’s incredible dress, or should I focus on the beautifully decorated church and religion or on photographer Katy’s talent for writing the perfect blog feature?
In the end I went with the feelings this wedding evokes for me. The overwhelming beauty of it all, from the emotions and moments captured in the photographs to the details that readers of my blog and Katy’s might love, and take away, and recreate for your own weddings. In a word, this is an unforgettable wedding. Be prepared to have your socks blown off. Both of them.
A wedding to inspire and remember

Katy sets the scene beautifully with photography of Sarah’s incredible wedding dress, the bridal shoes from Choola, the veil — from Blissful Daze in Sheffield — draped from the staircase and the gorgeous colours from stained glass windows at the family home.
The bridal preparations

All the girls had their hair done by the very talented team at Bliss in Heaton Moor, Stockport
Sarah dons the dress and instantly becomes The Bride: an incredible transformation from being a beautiful girl to a really stunning princess. The dress is “Reese”, by Maggie Sottero with an incredible beaded neckline and glamorous bead and crystal encrusted halterneck.

I love Sarah’s smoky eyes and classy pearls — and most of all her nose stud. Absolutely stunning and just perfectly individual — a free spirit and a gorgeous bride.
A wonderful church wedding ceremony
The bouquet and wedding flowers are by Mary from Mary’s flower basket in Heaton Moor — a riot of colour.
One of Katy’s favourite images and mine as well: Sarah glances nervously around, smiling and excited as she enters the church on her dad’s arm. He looks so very proud of his little girl.
A beautiful church for a couple with very strong Christian faith and family links to the church.

This is All Saint’s Church in Marple, and that is Dan’s dad who doubles as a vicar. The ceremony — as described on Katy Lunsford’s wedding photography blog — was a real family affair. Friends of the bride and groom provided the music and prayers, then there were readings from Dan’s sisters and Sarah’s sisters sang.

I really love these two images full of light and passion.

Sarah’s three sisters were her bridesmaids — they’re all so beautiful!

Two fabulous contemporary photographs with Sarah’s sisters and bridesmaids.
The bride and groom: fabulous portraits
The wedding reception
Sarah and Dan’s reception was in the church, which had been creatively transformed by family and friends into a truly magical space for the reception.

Fonix music played a blinder in the evening. Check out their wedding band blog for information.

And an exquisite final image of the bride and groom to end on — because as beautiful as these photographs have been, the love between Sarah and Dan is the most wonderful thing. Congratulations to you both.
Katy Lunsford — wedding photographer extraordinaire — you are fabulous. Thank you for sharing with English Wedding. I’ve intentionally left out some fantastic photos from this blog post because you’ve put together such a great write up on this wedding, with stunning images throughout. I’d love for everyone to see Sarah and Dan’s wedding on your blog…
There’s so much more from this wedding: a quick crunchy nut cornflake break, romantic moments in church and more of the wedding ceremony, the speeches, dancing and more gorgeous colour from the bridesmaids and vintage china for tea in the church hall… you’ll LOVE it! Visit katylunsford.blogspot.com

What a divine set of photos — Katy has such a superb eye for detail and way of getting right there in the moments.
And what a gorgeous dress for such a beautiful bride. The portraits are sublime and I’m an especially huge fan of the sun-flare one.
Katy must be really proud of these, and the couple must be over the moon.
