Lucky lucky bride

It’s every bride’s dream — win­ning a wed­ding dress by your favourite designer, being styled and pam­pered by the experts and hav­ing them cre­ate your per­fect dress. Amaz­ingly, for lucky Lon­don bride Laura May, her dream just came true!

Car­o­line Cas­tigliano launched her new web­site a cou­ple of months ago, along with all-singing, all-dancing social media updates via Face­book and twit­ter, a blog and lots of behind-the-scenes pho­tos and even fash­ion shoot videos.

That wasn’t all — the Car­o­line Cas­tigliano ‘CC Club’ launched simul­ta­ne­ously as a pretty cool way of get­ting brides to be hooked on Car­o­line Cas­tigliano wed­dings… and who wouldn’t be, with exclu­sive gifts, offers and com­pe­ti­tions from the worlds of wed­dings, lux­ury travel, beauty and fash­ion as well as sneak pre­views of lat­est col­lec­tions and invi­ta­tions to exclu­sive events.

The cherry on the wed­ding cake? Club mem­bers were entered into a com­pe­ti­tion to win a bespoke wed­ding dress up to the value of £5,000! (I’ll wait a sec while you pick your­self up off the floor.…)

The lucky win­ner, Laura May, 26, will be mar­ried in a Cas­tigliano gown when she ties the knot with fiancé Geof­frey Quint, 27, at West­min­ster Cathe­dral next year, after scoop­ing the prize in a com­pe­ti­tion organ­ised by Car­o­line Cas­tigliano to cel­e­brate the launch of the brand’s new web­site, www.carolinecastigliano.co.uk.

Laura said: “I was speech­less when I found out I had won! The thought of wear­ing such a beau­ti­ful fairy­tale gown almost brought me to tears. I woke up the fol­low­ing morn­ing and imme­di­ately had to check that it wasn’t just a dream.”

The cou­ple have been together for six years, becom­ing engaged when Geof­frey, who works at a Lon­don invest­ment bank, pro­posed to Laura, a junior doc­tor, on Valentine’s Day 2009 with a stun­ning plat­inum soli­taire ring from Aspreys. The cou­ple cel­e­brated the engage­ment that evening with a sur­prise party attended by friends and fam­ily at the Royal Auto­mo­bile Club in the glam­our of London’s Pall Mall, which had secretly been organ­ised by Geof­frey in the months prior to the proposal.

Laura and Geof­frey will be mar­ried in an inti­mate cer­e­mony at West­min­ster Cathe­dral. The recep­tion will be hosted by the Royal Auto­mo­bile Club’s Epsom club­house, in the heart of Surrey’s green coun­try­side, with a white and green colour scheme and sil­ver acces­sories through­out. The cou­ple will be hon­ey­moon­ing in Paris.

Next for Laura is a trip to the designer’s exclu­sive Knights­bridge flag­ship bou­tique where she will meet with her per­sonal con­sul­tant and begin the unpar­al­leled Cas­tigliano expe­ri­ence for which the brand is so renowned.

I know I’ll be fol­low­ing Laura’s story as she shares all about her Car­o­line Cas­tigliano expe­ri­ence — and I know it will be an excit­ing read for brides to be as well.

The whole con­cept of the bespoke design process is intrigu­ing for me — fun­nily enough when Amber at Car­o­line Cas­tigliano sent the press release she asked if I’d bumped into any WAGs recently (being in Cheshire, natch) and this is like a lit­tle insight into their world! The lives of the rich and famous, hey?
