Caroline Castigliano competition

As wed­ding com­pe­ti­tions go, I think this has to be my favourite so far this year: win a designer Car­o­line Cas­tigliano wed­ding gown to the value of £5,000.

The com­pe­ti­tion was launched in May along with the new Car­o­line Cas­tigliano web­site show­cas­ing the 2010 / 2011 col­lec­tion. All you need to do for a chance to win is join the Cas­tigliano Exclu­sives Bridal Club.

Read­ing between the lines, I think this means you’re sign­ing up for a newslet­ter. This is what the web­site says: The Cas­tigliano Exclu­sives Bridal Club is a brand new offer­ing from Car­o­line Cas­tigliano and is a great way for us to keep in touch with our brides. Mem­bers can look for­ward to hear­ing about our lat­est col­lec­tions, receiv­ing invi­ta­tions to our exclu­sive events and being auto­mat­i­cally entered into all our future com­pe­ti­tions.

(That last bit sounds pretty good value as well! And who’d say no to reg­u­lar updates from Car­o­line Cas­tigliano anyway?!)

Once you’ve signed up and entered the com­pe­ti­tion, don’t for­get to check out the rest of the Car­o­line Cas­tigliano web­site. It’s had a proper revamp and along with the uber-elegant imagery (all pho­tog­ra­phy is by Clive Arrow­smith) there are some behind the scenes treats.

See Car­o­line work­ing with mod­els at the photo shoot (filmed by the fan­tas­tic Julia Bog­gio) and watch the cat­walk shows to see the dresses being worn (and prac­tice that sexy bridal­wear model strut at home!) There’s a great sec­tion with exclu­sive pho­tos back­stage at the photo shoot — this is my favourite, called ‘Cap­tur­ing the Chaos’.

It’s great to see Car­o­line Cas­tigliano on Face­book too, com­plete with updates of Caroline’s own lat­est appear­ances, mag­a­zine fea­tures and fan­tas­tic photo gal­leries. I love the Opu­lent Col­lec­tion pic­tures (it’s the back­drop to those stun­ning gowns that gets me — they look amazing!)

The glam­orous side of the wed­ding industry.

I have it on good author­ity that some wed­ding sup­pli­ers take their prod­uct pho­tos lying on their tum­mies in the back gar­den, or perched on the top of the back of their sofas on one leg, hang­ing with one fin­ger onto the near­est light fit­ting, to get that per­fect shot of a cal­lig­ra­phy table plan… I’ll share one of my pho­to­shoots another time perhaps.
