As promised, a couple more wedding photographs in black and white. Following yesterday’s striking and dramatic wedding pictures by Chris Hanley, today I’ve chosen two pictures sent in by Hannah Dornford-May.
In contrast to yesterday’s photographs on quite a grand scale, these pictures focus on the more intimate details and simply capture real beauty in people: the first picture of a bride getting ready is completely unposed and unplanned, but I love how natural it looks and how beautiful and sensual the photograph feels.
The second of Hannah’s black and white wedding portraits is a pretty bridesmaid, and I love the quiet prettiness of this picture. The bridesmaid looks shy, with her hair done beautifully and holding her bouquet and bag so very carefully, she’s at home ready for the wedding in modest surroundings (as with the first picture) — it all adds together to make a picture that’s beautiful in its simplicity.
