Time for a treat as once again wedding photographer Chris Hanley has shared a gorgeous luxury wedding with us all. The setting is Hampton Manor in Arden, near Birmingham. It’s a splendid 19th century manor house with stunning period features, very much sought after as one of the most amazing wedding venues in England.
Laraine and Stephen were married in June 2009. Laraine wore a beautiful strapless white wedding dress and fingertip length veil — used to great effect in this photograph! Laraine’s pose is relaxed and very soft and feminine, while the doors to either side of her add a strong structure to the photograph. I love this picture.
Brides who’ve commented on weddings I’ve featured before on this blog have all said that wedding photographers Chris and Claire Hanley are a pleasure to work with, putting brides and grooms at ease, and making sure they enjoy the whole experience… and it’s in photos like this one that their magic shines through… Laraine looks wonderful skipping along the corridor in her gorgeous gown!!!
Groom Stephen looks fantastic in this photograph — I love the suit, his pose and how chilled out and happy he looks! Plus the swirling background on the wall behind him seems to frame the picture perfectly — a really nice, thoughtful wedding photo.
With a venue as stunning as Hampton Manor, you have to arrive in style. The vintage car is really classy and fits perfectly with the timeless setting for Laraine and Stephen’s wedding blessing.
Laraine and her bridesmaids pose for a lovely picture in the wedding car, the windows like little photo frames around each of the girls!
The bride and groom! After the wedding, Laraine and Stephen make their entrance at Hampton Manor. This creative photo frames the bride and groom twice, with the doorway opening and the rows of champagne sparkling to either side of the happy couple.
Outside the doors of Hampton Manor, the bride and groom pose for another striking picture. I love the symmetry of this one, the detailing around the top of the archway, the plants and again the relaxed and happy feel of the photo.
Outside Hampton Manor is fabulous, with wonderful period features. Inside it’s the height of modern luxury with stylish decor in every room and has plenty of opportunities for unique and luxurious wedding photographs. Hampton Manor has been described as “world class” by the famous wedding photographer Damien Lovegrove. It’s the perfect location for the best wedding photographs you could ever wish for.
With the focus of this picture on the bride and groom, the angle of the photo with the reflections is captivating! I could look at this picture for hours trying to figure out how the mirror thing works, but my eyes are always drawn back to Laraine and Stephen. Magic!
Stephen and Laraine’s 5 tier wedding cake is a work of art. Decorated with the most delicate of sugar roses in white with a hint of coral, it’s absolutely beautiful.
Did I mention Hampton Manor’s luxurious interior? I think this picture of the bride and groom says it all! The chandelier behind Stephen and Laraine is astonishing, with rows of crystals refracting the light to create a lovely atmospheric photo of the bride and groom. Laraine’s wedding gown is beautiful in the soft lighting, with swathes of fabric twisting around her feet to show the dress in all its glory.
Outside Hampton Manor after the sun sets on their wedding day, the photo opportunities just get more creative. This simple photo of the bride and groom in the manor’s lovely gardens is lit beautifully, casting Laraine’s dress in a flood of light.
Laraine could be a model for a top wedding dress designer in this blue and gold portrait. She has such an amazing figure, perfect for her dress which looks so beautiful in the blue lighting. I love the colours in the picture — I’d also love to know where it was taken!
A quiet moment for the bride and groom after the wedding. This picture could have been caught by chance, looking from outside the wedding venue at the bride and groom. I love the colours, the blue of the window panes and the warmth of the lamps inside the venue. Most of all, the warmth of the moment shared between the bride and groom is just lovely.
And to finish off the perfect summer wedding day, just a few fireworks — don’t they look amazing outside the manor house! Another lovely picture full of colour and light — and the ideal note to end on.
Thanks to Chris Hanley Photography for submitting another fabulous wedding for the blog. Not only is every photo stunning, it’s a real pleasure to see inside the top UK wedding venues. Hampton Manor is magnificent, and I can’t wait to see where Chris will take us to next!

Thank you Claire for the feature, your kind words of encouragement and another splendidly written piece. The Blue and yellow fashion fusion picture was taken in the luxurious bathroom of the bridal suite. There was a walk in shower area followed by a steam cubicle, which bathes you not only in perfect temperature water and steam, but a special light which is supposed to make even the darkest winter day feel like the sunniest summers day.
Laraine and Stephen had the privelege of being one of the first, if not the first wedding at Hampton. James the owner and his staff were fantastic, and treated every single guest like royalty. Not only do some of the worlds stars that play at the nearby NEC stay at Hampton, I was so impressed, we took our Cherish the Dress workshop there in the October with my mate Damien Lovegrove. Extra bonus me and Claire got to stay in the bridal suite and use that fabulous bathroom.
Firstly — what a gorgeous wedding and beautiful pictures to capture the day.
Secondly — it’s really great to see Hampton Manor flourishing again. My grandmother lives a stone’s throw away in the village and I have for many years wondered what greatness could be accomplished by this venue. I’m only sad that they opened after we had already booked our wedding otherwise this would probably have been my number one choice.
Thanks Chris and Emma for your comments. I can barely believe that’s a bathroom… it looked like a shower the size of a swimming pool, so unsure if it was the hotel spa or something, I thought I’d best not assume anything. I love that you took Laraine’s photo in the shower — it’s a highlight.
Emma, I agree Hampton Manor is a great venue. I was looking at their website yesterday while I wrote the blog feature (www.HamptonManor.eu) and it looks amazing inside and out — one of those timeless hotels which still has wifi and — as my mum would say — “all mod cons” too! Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate people taking the time to write something here!
Claire xx

Great write up Claire. Can’t wait for your next one.
