English bride Jayne looking beautiful before the wedding ceremony

Alan and Jayne were married on the 23rd of January 2010, at the lovely Hotel du Vin in Poole, Dorset. Their wedding was relaxed and yet very sophisticated, with close friends and family present for a really romantic civil ceremony. Their photographer was Lisa Dawn, who I’ve featured on this blog before — I love the charm Lisa captures in every wedding photograph — and Jayne and Alan’s wedding is certainly no exception, full of smiles and some happy tears too.

The chic Hotel du Vin is perfect for an intimate wedding

Alan and Jayne’s choice of wedding venue was perfect. Poole’s Hotel du Vin is a luxurious boutique hotel and former mansion house. It’s close to Poole’s historic harbour and an elegant building inside and out.

This pretty picture from Lisa Dawn’s wedding photography blog is great — an indication of the elegant, perfectionist approach of the Hotel du Vin. and the photograph is one I couldn’t miss. Taken by Lisa before the wedding, it’s a visual feast of sparkly, shiny, reflective prettiness.

Jayne poses with her very glamorous mum before the wedding ceremony

Jayne and her mum have a photograph taken before the ceremony, and they both look fantastic. Jayne’s dress is a lovely shape, with grecian elements to the design from the shoulder straps and shaped bodice. The detailing below the bust shows off her wonderful shapely figure and she has added a wonderful pearl and crystal necklace and cream roses at her wrist and ear.

Alan looks fantastic in his black suit with cream rose buttonhole. I like the open collars — everyone is happy and relaxed. Plus, Alan is beaming from ear to ear in these pictures.

The guests mingle in the hotel’s Crow’s Nest before the wedding

As the wedding guests arrive they’re treated to champagne in the Crow’s Nest room. The atmosphere was elegant and sophisticated, with jazz playing before the ceremony. The decor of the hotel is simply fabulous: the wallpaper quite unique!

Congratulations to the happily married couple!

As Alan slips the wedding ring onto Jayne’s finger, their friends and family watch with affection. This is a lovely warm picture with both bride and groom feeling emotional during the ceremony…

A wonderful moment and an emotional wedding day

… and Alan’s gone! I’m sure the happy couple will remember this moment for many years to come, but it’s a fantastic part of the ceremony to capture on film. The happiest groom I’ve seen, and with a tear in his eye. This is a fantastic wedding photo.

Time to sign the register, and both bride and groom look so much in love

These two are such a romantic couple. Alan is all smiles for the whole day, and they look absolutely fabulous together. It’s little shared moments like this one that Lisa Dawn can capture so well. Her relaxed style allows the bride and groom to carry on as if the camera wasn’t even there. But every special little instant of the day is being caught on film for them both to cherish.

Jayne and Alan cut the wedding cake

I hope you’re smiling back at Alan and Jayne as much as I am! Their wedding cake is understated but beautiful — in keeping with their elegant wedding style. The roses match the buttonholes and corsage, and the crinkly gold ribbon is a lovely touch.

The bride and groom exchange a kiss

A private moment: while the wedding guests enjoy the reception, photographer Lisa Dawn whisked the bride and groom away for some portrait photos around the hotel. The atmosphere of the day was relaxed and fun, and yet quite emotional for Alan and Jayne. This picture captures all of those themes beautifully.

This fantastic Poole wedding venue is full of great photo opportunities for any wedding, no matter what your theme will be. The classic floorboards, vintage wallpaper and sumptuous decor in this room make the perfect backdrop for a very sophisticated wedding portrait.

Having a great time at Jayne & Alan’s wedding!

Then it’s straight back to the party, which is in full swing! Just look at those huge smiles. This was an intimate wedding with close friends and family, and everyone has a fabulous time — evidently! This last picture show’s Lisa’s candid approach to wedding photography really pays off — you’re guaranteed a great selection of wedding photos which will make you laugh and smile fondly for many years to come.

Please do visit Lisa’s wedding photography website to find out more about her — we think she’s fab! Also have a look at her wedding photo blog to see the latest Dorset wedding pictures and news. Lisa — thank you again for sharing with the English wedding blog.
